VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR FUN & EXCITEMENT!
Are you are searching for a great opportunity to volunteer some of your time? Here's one where you can have fun and generate excitement, while providing community service and participating in an organized charity event.
Pro Players Association (PPA) is a community service organization comprised of current and former professional athletes, media and entertainment personalities, and associate members who work voluntarily on behalf of the community. Pro Players Association's goal is to raise money for worthwhile programs and charities that will benefit the community.
Their mission, simply stated, " Dedication to Serving and Giving Back to the Community", is one proven many times since their incorporation in 2002.
PPA's commitment and dedication of Giving Back to the Community may translate into a hands-on activity by holding a junior football clinic, playing in a charity golf tournament, helping to cook meals to feed the homeless, holding a holiday party for people with disabilities or mentoring to young adults. These events involve much-needed interaction between the community and the Pro Players members.
Such activities also provide a secondary benefit - they offer role models for today's youth. Whether they're at work, playing in a charity tournament or visiting a hospital, Pro Players demonstrate a sense of community that should be shared by all responsible citizens.
Membership with PPA has many benefits. PPA volunteers have loads of fun working side-by-side with the athletes, entertainment, and media personalities, and at the same time, receive acknowledgement, gratification and satisfaction for their efforts in assisting charities. Membership is open to men and women ages 18 and over. Membership dues for Associate Members are $35 annually. Each member receives a PPA polo shirt upon acceptance of their membership application. Several other member benefits which are offered include discounts from a variety of corporations, and even dental services. A portion of the membership dues is tax deductible.
PPA's pros represent a variety of sports, including the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, MLS, PGA, PBA, WBC, USTA, UWFL, AFL, MILB, USKBA, USOC, and many more. Our entertainment and media personalities represent the music, television and film industries, as well as local radio, television and printed outlets.
Some of our annual events include a clinic for Colorado youth football coaches at Invesco Field; Car, Truck & Bike Shows; Celebrity Bartending; Military Families Assistance Program; US Amateur Boxing; 5k Race and Walk; and the Firefighters Combat Challenge.
Volunteers are the backbone to the success of these programs. Several events are scheduled for the near future. Some of the upcoming events include Celebrity Bartender Night; Car, Truck & Bike Shows; Party with the Broncos at a Rockies Game; Live and Silent auctions; Youth & Coaches Football Clinics; 5k Run & Walk; NFL Nights; Concerts; Celebrity Golf Tournaments; Pro Boxing events, and many more.
Several charities have benefited from PPA events including: Locks of Love, The Laradon School, Optimists International, The Salvation Army, The American Red Cross, Jimmy Valvano Foundation for Cancer Research, Friends of Jake Fund, Burn Survivors Throughout The World, Colorado Uplift, Hunter's Dream for a Cure, Open Fairways, Grand County Rural Health Network, Anschutz Cancer Center at Fitzsimmons, Denver Firefighters Museum, Habitat for Humanity, Fetal Hope Foundation and many more.
